SHUT YOUR FACE. If I wanted your opinion, I'd pay a Pole to get it cheaper. |

MILF @ 14 minutes.
Issigonis prevented the advanced engineering team from making the Mini easier to assemble, even though Advanced Engineering begged to put their ideas forward. |

It was about the cars, despite the people who made them. |

Comparing the Mini to the Golf was a bit unfair, had they compared the Golf to the Allegro then I’m sure it would have been a bit more level in regards to building time.
Trouble was the unions pretty much forced BL to adopt manual intensive production to keep labour levels high, the Metro was the first car developed by them to really try to turn that situation around. |

Well, she is playing frusration. What a shit show the firm was. That lock fit process with some old gipper and a screwdriver, country matters vs manufacturing. It takes us about 8 seconds to fit a lock. Not 3 minutes. No wonder my Maestro was shit. |

Don't fucking start dissing the Maestro again. None of the shite you're knocking out matches the packaging. |

I couldn't believe how many separate parts (from separate suppliers) were involved in that one item. Is that still the norm? |

Things can sometimes come in as 'packages' these days. These can be built off-site or simply off-line- but there are a LOT more packages to fit.
But BUS wiring saves a lot of wires.
I'm surprised Bob can watch those films of grimy, Victorian factories with billions of scruffy workers bimbling about round wobbling components without screaming and running out.
Automated body assembly is perhaps the most spectacular difference, compared to blokes with lump hammers and filler. |
