Let’s get the ball rolling again with this BEAUTY.

https://www.caradvice.com.au/711832/volkswagen-sold-up-to-17000-pre-production-prototypes-to-consumers/

Quote:
These vehicles were made for development, testing and other purposes and were not approved for general use, and in some cases should have been scrapped. Instead they were sold to consumers as new or used vehicles depending on their odometer readings.

It is a bit shabby. We cube ours once we are done. The cars themselves while technically not legal should be perfectly safe and would have undergone the same, if not more testing at manufacture. Still, if you are parting with your hard earned you don't expect a pre-prod hack.

I thought they were used around the factory then given to the firemen to practice on with their big tinsnips.

The vast majority of car owners have no idea. Mrs B years ago thought out Passat TDI slightly sluggish. Mass meter has gone making it borderline undriveable to me. She just clogged it all the time.

He meant to say, "ein Volkswagen, ein Reichtum, ein Führerschein".

Unfortunately he said that wrong, too.

At a time of seemingly unrelenting human misery, a little good news:

https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/B**-ditches-3-series-turismo-cost-cutting-push

ANE wrote:
B** said it will not build a successor to the 3-series Gran Turismo "despite a good level of demand." More derivative versions will also be cut. The company said it will also step up other measures to reduce complexity, without specifying them.

Analysts weclomed (sic) the move.

Automakers are not "supermarkets, there is no good reason to sell everything," said Jürgen Pieper, an analyst at Bankhaus Metzler. Cutting the models was the right way, he said. "Nobody will miss them."

An B** 3 Series "Turismo", yesterday. I have to confess I didn't know TTWSG. A neighbour has a 5 series GT. Every time I see it I wonder what they were thinking.

B** that is, not the neighbour, who probably bought it from Arnoldae at a suspiciously cheap price.

I see B** US electric sales crash nearly 43%.

Will Tesla mop up with their recent cost cutting measures?

The future is common base model with cheapo in line customisation. Mirror covers, door handles, trims, even ride height, wheels etc. Same old loaf of bread, different wrapper. See MINI for details.
