We used to get excited at the illicit thrill of photos of disguised cars, now Tatuar are using them as part of an increasingly lame teaser campaign to keep up interest in the NEW DEAFENER.

The only thing I find remotely interesting is that the name of Tatuar's ex-Porsche Chief Marketing Officer translates as "Happy Bridegroom".

It's bad enough having a curvature. Is it hinged? I hope that's at least an option.

Looks like they are just bringing back the Disco 3/4.

Good.

The rumour I've heard is that they've bought the tooling and rights for the Shogun which went out of production in the summer. Its the only way they could make a credible, reliable and authentic 4x4.

Rover's best move since William Martin-Hurst's minor industrial accident at Fond du Lac, WI.

That's a good idea - a rake could be used to clear it, when the wipers mysteriously cease to function.

The Seppos are already SOILING THEMSELVES about this:

https://www.autonews.com/future-product/iconic-land-rover-Fagender-returns-north-america-after-21-years

Automotive News wrote:
The return of the Fagender to North America — where it was offered in the 1950s through the early '70s and again in the 1990s — is a dream come true for Land Rover fans who have seen the prices of classic Defenders balloon to more than $100,000 for some versions of the original, boxy aluminum bodied SUV.

Demand for classic Defenders is so strong that thousands have been imported — some illegally — by private buyers, even British market vehicles with the steering wheel on the right-hand side.

What is WRONG with these people?

From the latest leaks, this sounds like a GREAT REPLACEMENT for the Discovery, sadly RUINED in it's fifth generation.

Will they sell ANY Discoveries when this goes on sale?

Hmm...

It might not be the disappointment I was expecting.

A straight six diesel is good news, as such a thing eluded any Bollyhull Fagender or its predecessors.

Mine would be a D300, short wheelbase for added uselessness, in grey with the lowest profile tyres available to specially annoy Spackmental.

It's aimed at "couples, the self-employed and adventurers". The 110 is 4.758m long and has a longer 3.022m wheelbase, and is a tad lower at 1.916m.

Huh? It's a Land Rover. It should be aimed at squaddies, farmers and mountain rescue teams surely?

Also note that 3.022m is not 110 inches. Should really be called the Fagender 119 now.

I suspect once prices are announced the only people this will appeal to will be Russian, Saudi or State funded Royaly.

The Fagender stopped being a farmers vehicle decades ago. The only farmers driving them now are LR "enthusiasts" who are happy to put up with the heritage, discomfort and impracticality. Tractor cabs got adjustable seats, soundproofing and effective heating/AC in the mid '80s. I'm not sure if the Fagender ever caught up.

Go to any agricultural event and the car park will be full of recent plate Hilux, Ranger, Range-Rover, X5 and similar chod. And the bar at said event will be full of the Barbour Brigade moaning about how we must stay in the EU because they cannot turn a profit without subsidies.

I think LR know their audience now and this will correct the mistakes made with the Disco 5.

Any farmer here with a brain cell drives a Land Cruiser and keeps it for at least 20 years. LR products have been roundly ignored since the 80s by anyone who needs a working vehicle.

That's probably the first time I've seen 'LR products' and 'working vehicle' in one sentence.
