For all our (warranted) cynicism they aren't doing that badly. Clearly MOTORBILITY pays.

Have you got the break down of those sales per model?

Just for old takes sales I had a Twitter argument with a bloke claiming his 6 was assembled in Longbridge the other day.

Sandie left Lexus off the list. Their numbers for 2018 were similar to Mitsubishi, so MG is looking to overtake them this year too.

One cannot help but marvel at how well the dealer network has done in pushing the 3 and ZS. Not least given just how hopeless MG Motor UK are at both marketing and Aftersales support.

The Jeep figures are the one that stands out for me. The Renegade is exactly the sort of twee retro crossover shite that should be clearing up. You can't even blame its failure on being American as it's completely Wopanese.

According to Autocar, the ZS outsells the Bennygade and 500X combined in Britain.

Mike Manley wanted us to believe otherwise. He addressed the press conference looking like a bum. Made Marchionne seem positively dapper.

Incidentally no mention whatever was made of dear departed Sergio, without whom there would be no FCA.

I felt sorry for new Jeep chief Tim Kuniskis who could only offer Europe a 4WD petrol hybrid Renegade "from late 2019" and a Compass with the same drivetrain in 2020.

Probably very expensive versions of vehicles whose main selling point is cheapness, and even that's not good enough for viewers in the UK.

Torbjorn's going to sort it all out with a reworked Grovel:

Autoca* wrote:
The Levorg has failed to fill the gap left by the Legacy estate. As a result, Subaru has lost a loyal band of customers that it now wants to recapture. The brand registered just 90 examples across Europe in January.

Subaru also showed the revamped XV at Geneva and a hybrid version of the Forester, known as the e-Boxer.

Together, the XV and Forester contribute nearly three-quarters of Subaru’s UK sales, but Lillrud is also targeting more sales from its four other models – the Levorg, Impreza, BRZ and Outback.

That's a hell of a wide range to sell not a lot of.

Why are Subaru getting it so wrong?

So there's a retired bloke that lives down my mother's street who was single-handedly responsible for over 1% of Subaru's european sales in January, is that what we're saying?

I like the Levorg, but it needed more power rather than less.

Subarus struggle to sell because of their pricing, nearly TWENTY FIVE LARGE for a 114bhp Impreza anyone? The Grovel was similarly expensive, commanding a price that would have got you a 4WD Octavia vRS and change.

FTMFM and not even with a snob factor badge fitted.
This reducing power excuse smacks of desperation and they should give up.

This is the thing; Subaru UK via IM imports these cars with the smallest engines available in the range. Either go large or go home.

And GM did take a significant share in Subaru Or Fujitisu Heavy Industries, car division a while ago before divesting itself of success.

Years ago - it resulted in the rather oddball SAABaru 9-2.

That was when the Impreza dash took a sudden leap in PQ.

The car was about as convincing as the SAAB 600, mind.

Let's see. One in nine Fiats is an Abarth. Could be good if it's profitable 595s and 695s sold to people who'll pay over the odds because they want a 500, but not a girly one. Bad if it's a fire sale of 124 Spiders.

Jeep's performance in the UK is shocking. In Foren, Compasses and Renegades are everywhere. Doesn't mean they're any good, but people are buying them. Mike Manley needs to kick some arses.
