As the only person on here with any legitimate requirement for a 4X4, and being SOMEWHAT IMPECUNIOUS, I am sure* you will steer me right.

Problem with the Jimny is supply. They’re like steel sports Rolexes.

My thinking on that is that I could probably tolerate it in the arse end of nowhere as my days of start/stop nose-to-tail driving will be over.

Prices, for info:

Duster: £18,895
Jimny: £19,499
Subaru: £25,325

Duster is good for the price. It’s no Stelvio QV though.

It’s a pity Dacia insist on you having diseasel if you want a mid-spec Duster 4X4. Petrol 4X4 is reserved for the fully loaded “Prestige” (LOL) spec. If I was prepared to GET CANCER, I could get one for more like £15K.

You will HAT a manual. I went back to one after over 10 years in an auto.
I would have MURDERED THE CHIEF RABBI for a self shifter after two weeks.

If your budget is £20k, why not get ten P38a V8s? You can use one while the other nine are being fixed.

Subaru by a fucking mile - Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.

Interesting dealership landscape: In order of proximity:

Ayr
Antrim
Lisburn
Douglas
Eaglesham
Helensburgh
Carlisle

That could be four different nations before the Subaru's properly run in.

On the other hand, if you're serious about a Stelvio, Arnoldae has this:

https://www.arnoldclark.com/nearly-new-cars/alfa-romeo/stelvio/2-2-d-190-super-5dr-auto/2019/ref/arnea-u-18212

Executive summary: 2019 (68 ) Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.2 D 190 Super 5dr Auto. Ex daily rental, 1005 miles, £26,500.

Got chatting to the owner of a MASOCHIST SPEC Duster in Stranraer this morning. He was positively EVANGELICAL about it. Mind, they’re not right down here. The Wicker Man was a DOCUMENTARY.
