Spotted its big brother earlier in the week:

For reasons I've never fathomed, Stuttgart registered Porsches are quite commonly spotted outside the Balmoral Hotel in the EPC, indeed all three of these were on them.

There’s a higher German parts content in an Aston than a Porsche.

Next you'll be telling us there are more Tims in Rangers than in Celtic.

I've been driving the new 911 for a couple of weeks. It is simply SUPEBR.

In that light the colour's somewhat reminiscent of the bathroom suite my mother's elderly neighbours had in the mid-seventies.

Indeed; before the railway-bumper 911s, Porsche did offer some wonderful, sometimes bathroom-inspired colours and it's well time they returned.

Aye. It was a bloody fortune to have something not a shade of grey - bought totally blind too, only a few saturated photos on the internet to gamble on.

Nice work Pearly.
Any green car gets my nod.
Wasn't there a scandi show with a woman driving around in a brown 911?
That looked good too.
It's no TR8, but fair play.

Bron/Broen.

It was an appealingly appalling colour for a sports car, let alone a FIRM product.

The most distressing thing, to be perfectly honest, is the idea of Robin using Bing for search.

Pffft. By sticking a “Property of Coop dairies, please pass” sticker on it.

Anyway today I have been having a day of HELMSMANSHIP.

At Stuttgart’s expense (in Silverstone) earlier instead of usefully spending the morning learning the foibles of car on our drive, the dangle of 992 keys made me buckle. Luckily the wife spent the morning learning how to ring the neck of her Cayman, (most usefully a wiggle on the steering wheel once you feel the dreaded stop start quiver before shut down, kills the stop start - I wonder if this works on all e-pas vehicles?).

Incredibly* the neu 991 goes like stink and grips like Funf to a Buckie. One thing the instructor couldn’t repeat enough was the ability to stop in it’s own car length at 30, or half the time it took to reach any set speed. Launch control, up to 85, brakes hard on, stationary again =10 seconds. As part of the session I asked to gout on the B roads by Silverstone to actually see how it coped when not on a track specifically designed to flatter it. Better than the Cayman, but not massively so, for day to day motoring, the rear width of the bloody thing would piss you off too. So I’m glad I saved 30k there. The gearstick toggle thing feels cheap too. However the bucket list of thrashing no holds barred a brand spanking new 911 has been ticked off happily.

Footnote: With nearly 5k on the odometer, this will genuinely be an approved used Porsche in a months time 😉
