Not our Bob, but Bob Henderson who is the subject of a four page article in The Scottish Field by one Morag Bootland (they never bloody asked me - at least Lyn Neildon didn't get the gig)

Anyway Bob is very much in agreement with Spackmental on the matter of tyre profiles, telling Morag:

"We also refused a large American contract because they wanted to go to low profile tyres. People don't seem to understand that about 70% of the suspension is done by the tyres, not the springs and shockers. There was no way I was going to ruin a perfectly good car by putting low profile tyres on it."

Bob, you're high profile tyres on the Avensis and high suspension allows me to traverse big roads at stupidly high speeds when I'm late for meetings. I couldn't do it in anything else

15" wheels with decent profiles on the top of the range Prius tipped the balance for me versus the Corolla, with 16-inchers forced on you even on the povvo spec. The rubber bands and the 18" wheels on the top spec Corolla make no sense whatsoever.

I suspect the Prius is the one car left in the Bob stable where the engineers still have the upper hand over the designers and the salesmen.
