I see Vauxhall have announced their ELECTRICAL CORSA. It'll be shit, but it's at a similar price point to the E-ZS.

Ahh, the irony. Due date 1st July, likely date 2nd September. I've let myself down badly too.

I tell you what Bob, I’m up in the Highlands for a couple of days and I’ve seen at least half a dozen new Corollas. That must be THE WHOLE PRODUCTION RUN TO DATE, surely?

£21.5K for the base one, as MG are offering to double the £3,500 government EV incentive for the first 1,000 customers. Only the Zoe and C-Zero undercut it amongst EVs.

It genuinely seems they've got it right.

What can possibly go wrong? I'm guessing some kind of dangerous fault that will be unearthed after a few thousand sales. Spontaenous combustion, floor mats that give you smallpox, that kind of thing.

I'm reminded of how those Mitsubishi PHEV SUVs suddenly appeared from nowhere and became ubiquitous. At that price I can see the ZS doing the same.

This is going to be the Firm's first truly BTH since the R8.

I've always said it took the Japs twenty years, it took the dog-eaters ten. It won't take the Bartons that long.

Throw in a free home charger install and pay electricity to run it for two years and a lot will find homes.

Knowing MG Motor System & Rancid Mole Meat Facility (UK) and their reputation for rock solid competence in all areas, did they post you the petrol in a Jiffy bag?

They gave you a fuel card for that offer.

How would they manage that offer for electricity, how would they calculate the contribution to people's home electricity bills, how would they deal with the fact that public charging points are ran by god know's how many companies with different systems?

Some people can even charge them for free at work.

Easy. They’d give an ‘RFID’ card for one of the charging companies. Like ‘Chargemaster’ for example.

But I do think that the RFID card method is shit. Contactless payments like engenie and instavolt are the future.

Indeed, but how does that work if you charge from home - as that's where the car will be idle most of the time - or if none of the charging points near you are from that firm?

Surely even you recognise this is a daft fucking idea from ST.

I agree on both counts. So it’s just the sort of thing that MG would do.

They would give you a prepaid card for Electric Highway. The ones that are in every motorway service station.
The ones that crash and lock up every time you connect a CCS car to them.
